Narrative Gewurztraminer 2017
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis is the first gew under the Narrative label. With a gentle kiss of gingerale sweetness, this bright wine is bone dry, thankfully, with one meagre g/l RS. Brisk, astringent, lemon-laced acidity, with fresh peach, apricot, and green apple freshness on a silken, slender palate. Picked early and mostly whole bunch pressed, this had a portion destemmed for 18 hours of skin contact, before seven months on gross lees, adding winemaker Matt Dumayne's now hallmark textural element. This is a clean view of what Gew can be here, and a very welcome one. For current drinking, but will continue to evolve in bottle.Tasted: 25 October 2018Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:BC | $23.00 | 750ml | winery direct |
