Yarra Valley, Victoria, AustraliaYarra Valley's Mac Forbes is one of the Aussie vanguard proving the worth of appreciating and understanding terroir and site over brand. He works with a number of single vineyards across Yarra. This, however, his 'entry tier' chardonnay blends fruit from Healesville, Hoddles Creek and Woori Yallock vineyards, all in the Yarra Valley. It's still an exciting drop, wound with lemon-laced acidity and accessible with white / yellow fruits, a moderate lees-decked and fennel scented palate, and ample cracked stony spice through the lengthy finish.
