Rust Wine Co. Syrah 2016

Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaRust Wine Co. opened a year ago, taking over Rustico Farm and Cellars for their tasting room, and making small lot, single-vineyard wines from around the Okanagan. Roast meats meet lavender potpourri in this giant red, grown on the Black Sage Bench. Restrained, this is not, instead of going for a big, punchy, earthy, rooty, herbal red, floated by coffee, creamed corn, and pitch to a warm finish. I appreciate waxed tops on some wines, not when I have to spend a while chipping off a thick cap of soft wax only to find another wax-tipped topped cork underneath. Not so user-friendly, unless you need a big bruiser red to partner with your grilled beef.Tasted: 10 September 2018Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
