Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThirty-year-old gamay from the home Sunrise Vineyard is the star of this wine, one that winemaker Jason Parkes makes because he loves pinot noir but has a gamay budget. This is a relatively rich gamay, something BC pulls off with ease, full of bright raspberry and strawberry that is livelier on the palate in 2016. The finish is alive with a juicy, cinnamon spiced thread that disappears into the round tannins.
