Soto y Manrique Tinita Vinas de Verdejo 2016
Rueda, Castilla-Leon, SpainThis verdejo is grown on poor sandy soils that effectively reduce yields and up the intensity of the wine. The attack is clean and fresh with a bit of mid-palate polish and weight. The vines, well over 20-years-old, grow at altitude. About a quarter of the volume is barrel fermented in old wood for four months; the remainder goes into stainless steel. The attack is a mix of lime and citrus with a silky buttery/quince mid-palate but not in a fat way. Reminiscent of rich sauvignon blanc, it has countless seafood option in BC.Tasted: 21 August 2018Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $30.99 | 750ml | private wine stores |
