Juve y Camps Gran Reserva Brut 2012
Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, Penedès, Catalunya (Catalonia Cataluña), SpainGran Juvé & Camps is produced with only the finest estate grapes from the Espiells estate in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, and from Mediona in the Alt Penedès. Expect just a hint of pale gold colour before a lightly oxidative, leesy, mineral nose with an underlying, surprising freshness. It’s floral and redolent in notes of white flowers before red apple, stones, toasted nuttiness takes you through to the finish. The fizz is soft and creamy but persistent. On average it spends an impressive 42 months in bottle. The blend is a mix of macabeu, xarel. lo, parellada and chardonnay. Works with a wide array of appetizers although we enjoyed with fresh cracked Dungeness crab. Excellent value.
