Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaCentury Block pays homage to the site that was home to over 100 different apple varieties back in the 1980s. Today, the old river bed (Three Mile Creek) vineyard is planted to clones 666 and 777. The 2015 nose is bright, even fresh in the face of 100 percent new oak which no doubt seemed like a clever idea given the structure and weight of the warm 2015 harvest, but it may be too much. Its dark fruit, black flavours, penetrate the palate with a savoury, spicy undercurrent, but the finish leaves you wanting more complexity and length.
