CedarCreek Platinum Block 5 Single Vineyard Chardonnay 2016
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaFrom their home vineyard, block 5, this was entirely native fermented in French barrel and puncheons before ten months in said wood, with a small amount deciding to undergo MLF. Fermenting and aging in wood, especially larger-format, gives an entirety and completeness to this wine, one that is weighty and structural, but still elegant and seamless. Licks of white florals kiss the French cream, ripe pear, grapefruit, one rafted with flinty minerality and brisk acidity, carrying this far. Showing lovely now in youth, this will only continue to integrate and merge with time in your cellar.
