Bartier Bros. Pinot Gris 2017
Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaMichael Bartier has always made real wine but lately he has shown the confidence to let his wines tell their story of place, as emphasized by the rare cactus flower on his labels. The 2017 gris comes off the sandy loam topsoil over sandy silt site of Peach Orchard Hill Vineyard in Summerland. It spends four months in stainless steel on lees. The nose and palate are a riot of orchard fruit with fig and citrus supporting the finish. A serious, no nonsense white for summer seafood salads. Only 229 cases made.Tasted: 16 July 2018Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Treve RingPrices:BC | $21.99 | 750ml | winery direct, private wine shops, restaurants |
