Lang Vineyards Maréchal Foch 2016
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaSweetly sunbaked plum, cherry and blackberry fill the full, ripe and just off-dry palate of this marechal foch. From 60+ year old vines, this concentrated red draws leather, dried figs, blueberry jam and cracked peppercorns along a full palate. Tannins are soft and plush, and the finish is long, absorbing the warmth (nearly 15 degrees). This reminds me of a ripasso red in its richness and intensity.
