Bolgheri, Tuscany, ItalyPaleo is 100 percent cabernet franc, a variety seemingly made for Bolgheri. The ’09 Bolgheri vintage gave us a rich, hedonistic Paleo although some of that exuberance and fruit has thankfully dissipated over the last nine years, leaving a more complex wine of mixed red plums and cherries with a spicy, smoky, dried herbs undercurrent and a long, silky elegant finish.
