Vaglio Chacra Malbec 2014
Agrelo District, Luján de Cuyo, Northern Region, Mendoza, ArgentinaThis is 100 percent varietal malbec from the 47-hectare DDP Vineyard in Agrelo, Mendoza. It’s all hand harvested fruit, grown at 3215 feet, and spends 11 months in second and third use oak before spending another six months in bottle. The style is pure with dark fruit, and the attack is a mix of plummy, juicy, jammy blackberry. The tannins are soft with bits of raisin and spice pushing through the back end. Made by José Lovaglio Balbo, son of famed Argentine winemaker Susana Balbo.Tasted: 13 March 2018Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $23.49 | 750ml | estimated retail |
