Paul Jaboulet Aîné Côtes du Rhône Parallèle 45 2015

Côtes du Rhône, Rhone Valley, FrancePaul Jaboulet Aîné is one of the Northern Rhone's leading estates, first established in 1834. The Parallèle line, their 'entry level' tier, was named because the 45th parallel runs two kilometers from the domaine’s cellars near Tain L’Hermitage. This cuvée began in 1950 and represents the Jaboulet commitment to producing France’s finest Rhône value. The estate been under the purview of the Frey family for the past decade or so, and Caroline Frey is currently oenologist and proprietor. The rouge is a blend of 40 year old grenache and syrah vines from family farms, half of which is declassified Villages fruit. Youthful cherry, is roughed just the right amount with sanded wood and scented with cedar shavings. Cherry, black raspberry is raspy on the palate with drying, gritty tannins to a tight finish. This rustic red is best suited to grilled sausages.Tasted: 05 March 2018Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
