Upper Bench Pinot Noir Estate Grown 2015
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe winery says it is not a wimpy pinot noir and they're right. Earthy black fruit and balsamic notes give it a richer, more aggressive demeanour, frankly lacking the finessed, red-fruited style that is fast becoming the benchmark in the valley. Many will like the black cherry, raspberry, smoky leathery fruit with a strong forest floor undercurrent. Personally, I favour a more reserved style but this is, as it should be, the Upper Bench style. Lamb burgers, grilled salmon or duck confit will all work here.Tasted: 26 February 2018Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $28.00 | 750ml | winery direct, VQA stores, private liquor stores |
