Ribera del Duero, Castilla-Leon, SpainThe winery is based in the backyard of a wee house in the tiny town of Quintanilla de Arriba, Valladolid. Amparo Repiso, 4th generation winemaker, decided to start her own winery in 2004 with just one barrel of wine. A new winery came in 2013 to process the fruits from her two tempranillo vineyards. One year in French oak provides the structure, with a wink of vanilla lines the stony base. Compact and dense blackberry, liquorice, savoury thorns, black plum, cracked black pepper fill the generous palate, and wood gripped tannins house it.
