Sonoma County, California, United StatesRodney Strong Vineyards practises modern, artisanal winemaking on a large scale, while making substantial commitments to the environment. Its SoCo cab comes off three sites from Jimtown, Geyserville and Cloverdale, all planted to alluvial, volcanic, and uplifted shale/sandstone soils. In 2015 the style remains reasonably rich with floral, plummy, red and black fruits and with hints of cinnamon and pepper. There is just enough structure and tannin to suggest it's cabernet sauvignon. Serve with any grilled meats to best effect.
