Côtes du Rhône, Rhone Valley, FranceXavier Vignon was a leading oenologist in the Southern Rhône, making wine all around France, Oz and NZ and consulting at a number of top estates before settling in Rhône Valley, where he operates this impressive negotiant house, consults for 200 Domaines from Rhône to Languedoc, and manages one of the area's biggest laboratories. This is a blend of grenache, mourvedre and syrah from numerous sites and terroirs of the Southern Rhone, and vines averaging 40 years. Dried cassis, wild blackberry, thorny pitch is hemmed in with grippy, hard-pressed and unforgiving tannins.
