Honoro Vera Rioja 2016
Rioja, SpainFresh, stony resiny nose with fragrant black plums, raspberries, and a dusting of violets. The attack is juicy with round, succulent red fruit reminiscent of freezer raspberry jam. The acidity is persistent and in balance with supple tannins. This is the New Rioja but it's done in a respectful way. Pair with lamb chops for a traditional match or barbecue ribs for a more rustic backyard dinner. It is all tempranillo fermented over two weeks in stainless steel and with ten percent on to spend five months in French oak. The alcohol is a modest 13.5 percent alcohol.Tasted: 11 January 2018Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $21.99 | 750ml | private wine shops |
