Vanessa Vineyard Right Bank 2014
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaSweet, ripe, dense and intense, with roasted coffee, espresso, smoked wood, blackberry jam. The extraction and intensity here is richter scale, presenting even warmer and more boozy than the 14.9 degrees on the label. Tannins are gritty and hard pressed, while the palate is cushy and plumped. The finish, warm as it is, lingers with a steely tin note. Finessed and elegant this wine is not, which is a shame since Vanessa Vineyard is a beautiful stony site in the Similkameen, with vines now 10 years old. Here you taste winemaking over site: two years in French and american oak (2nd use) hits like a sledgehammer. More is not more.Tasted: 07 December 2017Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:BC | $39.99 | 750ml | winery direct |
