Upper Bench Cabernet Franc Estate Grown 2015

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaNaramata and cabernet franc appear to be a fine mix, and as the years go by and temperatures creep up a degree or two, the future of this grape in BC is bright. The heat in 2015 was oppressive and there is fine ripeness here. The tannins are a bit chunky at this stage and the style slightly rustic but some of that will be overcome by the chocolate, cherry and minty savoury notes that marked the ’15. Give this three or four years to settle down and reach its zenith. In the meantime, you could serve it with a creamy, Upper Bench cheese such as King Cole to ameliorate some of those tannins.Tasted: 14 December 2017Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
