Tormaresca Torcicoda Primitivo 2013
Salento, Puglia, ItalyTorcicoda is always a big wine but under the watchful eye of its famed Tuscan owner Antinori, it has a sense of elegance in 2013, at least now as it closes in on its fifth birthday. Made with primitivo it is anything but primitive, with a fresh, modern style, shedding some of the rustic meaty characters of the past. With medium fine-grained tannins and just a hint of Mediterranean sweetness, its cherry licorice flavours finish dry and very well balanced. Serve with your favourite bird or mushroom dish.
