Jean-Marc Brocard Chablis 1er Cru Butteaux 2015
Chablis, Burgundy, FranceButteaux sits at the top of Montmains where there is more clay, giving it a touch of the roundness weight you see in a Grand Cru. It’s all aged in 100 percent old oak so there is deeper colour here and a touch more spice on the nose. The palate is full and expansive with some tropical fruit riffs and candied lemon driving the spectrum, albeit it remains precise with the requisite amount of minerality and bright acidity to keep it balanced. A nice addition to the lineup we see here in Canada and if you can find some lobster in your neighbourhood try it with Butteaux.Tasted: 22 December 2017Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $58.99 | 750ml | private wine shops |
