Ex Nihilo Night 2015

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaNight is Ex Nihilo's Bordeaux blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot and cabernet franc grown on their Oliver and Black Sage vineyards. This spent 18 months in French oak, well struck to stand up to the potency of the fruit, and is a highlight of their portfolio. This is a big, muscular wine that carries its confidence well: brooding black fruit, dark chocolate, olive, anise, licks of raspberry and ample cinnamon / peppery spicing. The palate is lush and tannins are well integrated. There's a flush of heat on the finish (you feel the near 15 percent) that is best met with roasted beef or lamb. Cellar for a few years for best showing.Tasted: 08 December 2017Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
