Errazuriz Sauvignon Blanc Late Harvest 2016
Valle de Casablanca, Region de Aconcagua, ChileIt’s been a while since we have seen this wine but it remains reliable as ever. With 14 per cent gewürztraminer to juice up the mix it lifts this late harvest sauvignon out of the realm of the ordinary. Crisp and aromatic with floral/citrus aromas and apricot/honey, egg yolk flavours that finishes clean. It's light but persistent flavours suggest you can serve this solo or with fresh fruit. This wine is made with grapes that were handpicked very late. After careful selection only the most suitable bunches infected with the proper amount of noble rot were used. Some 60% of the must was fermented in stainless steel tanks and the rest fermented in second-use French oak barrels. After fermentation 60% of the wine was aged in French oak barrels of second and third use for ten months.Tasted: 23 December 2017Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $16.49 | 375ml | BCLS |
