Champagne Lanson Millésime Gold Label 2005

Champagne, FranceThe 2005 Millésime Gold Label is a blend of roughly half pinot noir and half chardonnay, all Grand Cru, left on its lees for at least 60 months. Lanson notes the 2005 harvest as one that produced ‘tender’ wines. We found rich, fleshy textures on the palate with classic honey-dew flavours but just the right amount of no malo electricity pulsing through the wine to keep it fresh and lively. As well as this champagne is showing at 12 years of age, export director Enguerrand Baijot has even higher hopes for a phenomenal 2008 issue. We can’t wait either. Lanson maintains a Vintage Collection that spans more than a century. Today, a few magnum bottles from the 1976 and subsequent vintages are offered to a limited number of Champagne enthusiasts around the world.Tasted: 09 December 2017Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
