Champagne Gosset Blanc de Blancs Brut NV

Champagne, FranceThe Blanc des Blancs Brut is the newest label from the oldest champagne producer. This wine is simply delicious, hitting the mid-section between elegance, finesse and persistence. It’s amazingly complex for a single variety (chardonnay wine) which points to blending multiple lots and sites form the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims. The acidity is electric, yet tamed by smoky, toasty, creamy textures. Lemons, apricots, sea salt, hazelnuts and nectarines create complex flavours that won’t quit. Gosset, located in the miniscule Grand Cru village of Aÿ, is the oldest known Champagne producer with origins back to 1584. Since 1994 the Frapin Cognac house has owned Gosset with Jean Pierre Cointreau running both companies. Current production is small at an estimated 1.3 million bottles. All Gosset champagnes are RD or ‘recently disgorged,’ without malolactic fermentation.Tasted: 09 December 2017Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
