Champagne Gosset Grand Blanc de Blancs Brut NV

Champagne, FranceFounded in Aÿ in 1584 by Pierre Gosset, Champagne Gosset is the oldest wine house in Champagne. For 17 generations, Gosset was family-owned, but in 1993 it was sold to the Cointreau family from Charente, owners of Frappin Cognac. A "newer" release for the house, the BdB was first released in 2011. Fruit comes from across the appellation, including the Montagne de Reims (up to 1/3), Sezannais, Vitryat, and of course the Côtes de Blancs. This bottle was based on 2018, with 10% reserve wines, and was disgorged in late 2022 with 7 g/L. Though I'm always skeptical of clear bottles for sparkling wines due to light strike, the winery reports they have 30% more sales when packaging this in clear glass vs shaded glass. Tight green apple, oyster liqueur, and subtle anise hum across a direct, finely chalky core, with ample freshness still, and a lingering finish. Drinking now, smartly.Tasted: 04 December 2025Tasted by: Prices:
