Champagne Dom Pérignon Vintage 2009

Champagne, FranceWhere is the 2008 you say. After many comparative tastings, the team at DP did not think it was ready to release while they did come to learn the 2009 was. The 2009 was born from a warm growing season meaning slightly less acid and a more generous mid-palate thanks to fruit that was riper than the norm. It’s the reason we love vintage champagne because its the differences that attract. This is rare style of Dom and you can access earlier what’s not to celebrate. Don’t get us a wrong this wine still comes with finesse and incredible precision and finesse. This year it trades some seawater and stoniness for brioche and stone fruit tones all the while long and penetrating through the finish. Can you drink it now, yes? Can you wait a decade, yes? I have cellared these bottle on and off for up to 30 years and enjoyed every one of them.Tasted: 09 December 2017Tasted by: Prices:
