Champagne Cuvée Charlemagne Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs 2010
Champagne, FranceChampagne Guy Charlemagne has been homed in the small village of Mesnil sur Oger since 1892. They only harvest and vinify grapes from their own Grand Cru vineyards and produce approximately 130,000 bottles per year, from their 15 ha, and from vines approximately 42 years old. This cuvée from the Côte des Blancs, more precisely from Mesnil sur Oger and Oger on limestone soil is only made in the best vintages. Doughy and oxidative, with lemon meringue pie ruling, and pear butter, oak spicing, dough and creme brûlée playing staring roles. This is entirely Grand Cru fruit and feels / shows it, with an opulence and regality worthy of the name Cuvee Charlemagne.Tasted: 09 December 2017Tasted by: Treve Ring & Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $75.99 | 750ml | private wine shops |
