Champagne Bauchet Saint-Nicaise Blanc de Blancs Millesime Brut 2009
Champagne, FranceThis grower is one of the larger in Champagne, with 34 ha in Bisseiul, Grauves and the Aube, but only makes 25,000 cases annually. Creamy and ripe, but stencilled with firm acidity reflective of its 100 percent chardonnay, this feels its 2009 vintage: soft, round and dough, coated with hazelnuts, yellow apple, Asian pear. Powerful and bold, yet with that upright chardy structure, this is certainly a step up from a typical NV Champagne. The finish lingers with aged parmesan, welcoming pairing with poultry.Tasted: 09 December 2017Tasted by: Treve Ring & Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $119.99 | 750ml | BCLS |
