Torres Altos Ibéricos Rioja 2014
Rioja, SpainDusty cherry, green-leafed raspberry, plum, on this somewhat rustic 'red' tempranillo, one that saw a year in French and American oak, some of that partially new and another year in bottle before release. The wood is felt along its bitter cherry, green peppercorn, short warming finish. There is a softness here but not enough to overcome its resiny, savoury, green notes. It's made for cured Ibérico pork but this bottle will be better with rustic winter stew.Tasted: 29 November 2017Tasted by: Treve Ring & Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $28.00 | 750ml | private wine shops |
