Tate Alexanders Vineyard Chardonnay 2013

Margaret River, Western Australia, AustraliaNamed after the patriarch of the Tate clan, this wine in the Alexanders Vineyard range represents what the producer imagines chardy to be. The vineyard is close to Willyabrup and mostly planted to the ubiquitous Mendoza clone. Partial barrel ferment (new and older French barriques) with a good amount of solids, this saw a good amount of battonage in barrel before bottling one year later. This holds the wood, lees, ripeness very well, expressing a pure and creamy core of spiced yellow apple, pear, lemon to a vanilla-tinged finish.Tasted: 17 October 2017Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
