Montagne de Reims, Champagne, FranceFrom Montagne de Reims villages Jouy-lès-Reims and Villedommange, this is a singular blend of 45% Pinot Meunier, 25% Chardonnay, 25% Pinot Noir and 5% of lesser seen grapes Arbanne, Petit Meslier and Fromenteau (Pinot Gris). This uses 50% from the current vintage and 50% perpetual reserve going back to 1998. After a stainless ferment, this spent two years sur latte. A red apple core is perfumed with orchard blossoms and a potpourri of fragrant spices, woven with white peach, rainier cherry, and a kiss of perpetual oxidation. Solid, friendly, interesting grower champagne (at a great price too).Tasted: 15 October 2024Tasted by: Prices:
Montagne de Reims, Champagne, FranceFrom the villages of Jouy-lès-Reims and Villedommange in the Montagne de Reims this is a unique and singular blend of 45% Pinot Meunier, 25% Chardonnay, 25% Pinot Noir and 5% of lesser seen grapes Arbanne, Petit Meslier and Fromenteau. The cuvee uses 50% from the previous vintage, and and 50% perpetual reserve going back to 1998. After a stainless ferment, this spent two years sur latte (on sides). Tightly wound on the core, with sharp green apple, green fig, lemon verbena and light notes of pear brioche seasoned with sea salt. This wine carries a depth of flavour thanks to half perpetual reserve (rare to see this much), and a layered complexity due to the presence of Champagne's rarely seen minor grapes. There's a vibrato of energy that makes the palate hum to a crystalline lemon finish. Memorable and charming, I always enjoy this fresh and distinctive grower fizz. Great value.Tasted: 03 October 2017Tasted by: Prices:
