Balthasar Ress Hattenheimer Schützenhaus Riesling Kabinett 2014
Rheingau, GermanyThis is an Erste Lage, the equivalent of a "premier cru" and from the site of Schützenhaus, a south-southwest sloping vineyard around 150 meters in altitude. The site is protected (in German, "schützen") from cold easterly winds. Off dry and softly scented, with pear butter, ripe white peach, pear scented with a salty snap. Slightly waxy on the palate and certainly honeyed, adding substance to pair with halibut or roasted ham.Tasted: 06 October 2017Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:BC | $24.00 | 750ml | |
