Little Farm Pied de Cuve Orange 2016
Cawston, Similkameen Valley, British Columbia, CanadaA new release, and the first orange, from Similkameen's organic Little Farm Winery, this riesling was foot trodden and left to ferment on the skins with native yeasts before gentle pressing to stainless. Rhys and Alishan were thinking they'd transfer it to neutral barrel, but after tasting this characterful wine, decided to bottle it unfined and unfiltered after six months on the lees. Glowing orange hue, this streams apricot oil and tangerine oil on a lean, tight, nimble frame. Green apple skin, salt are finely grippy on the palate, finishing on a snappy note.
