Ex Nihilo Pinot Noir Small Lot Barrel Reserve 2015
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe small lot barrel reserve is just that: the best of the best bottled in small amounts. The blend is a mix of French clones 777,667 and 115 and the style is big and rich and spicy. The palate is a mix of ripe, jammy berry flavours, perhaps too sweet for some, that finish long, warm and spicy. There is that northern savoury undercurrent with bits of thyme and sagebrush to add complexity. The tannins are round and drinkable now. Lacks lift and freshness to be a great bottle.
