Okanagan Falls, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaTwo French clones make up the nine-year-old estate vines planted near the near the entrance of the estate as you drive in. The nose is bright, 2016-like, with fresh acidity, and grassy, gooseberry sea salt flavours spilling across the palate. Well-made conservative style sauvignon that could easily slip onto local restaurant wine lists to take on most local seafood. Okanagan Falls, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaSauvignon blanc struggles in Canada, yet there are a few glimmering hopes, and Blue Mountain has always been one of those. A blend of 8-9 year old estate vines, farmed sustainably, cropped low, whole bunch pressed and fermented wild (in a blend of stainless and older wood). This vintage is tropical citrus, crunchy pear, boxwood, thistle, white peach and punchy lemon, throughout the potent, yet streamlined (this much flavour in 11.5 percent?) medium bodied wine. A pink grapefruit pithiness sticks the finish.Tasted: 21 July 2017Tasted by: Prices: BC 18.90 winery direct, private retail, restaurants
