Bella Wines Gamay Noir Methode Ancestrale Mariani Vineyard 2016
Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaFrom Naramata's young Mariani Vineyard, this is a single grape (gamay), single clone (787), single vineyard pet nat in its third leaf (1st fruit taken). Organically farmed on silty clay soils, this was fermented wild in old barrels until the brix reached 2.5, when it was hand-bottled with no additives. The funk is still evident: white florals, pear blossom, this is sharp on the entry and brief on the finish, with ample acetone funk on the end. Pours fairly clear, indicating this was disgorged prior to release. Promising for the future.Tasted: 10 July 2017Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:BC | $40.00 | 750ml | winery direct |
