Bella Wines Cavada Gamay Rosé Brut 2016
Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis Vineyard Series gamay fizz is from the granite-soiled Cavada vineyard, at the far end of Naramata Bench. Neglected in recent years, it is in the process of being converted to organic viticulture and has been dry-farmed for the past two years - always a transitional phase for the vineyard. Twenty-two year old vines were whole cluster pressed, wild ferment (primary) and sans sulfur. A pale pink hue, with pink grapefruit, rainier cherry, light dough, white pepper, strawberry leaf bite which cleanses the brisk, green apple finish.
