Protea Rose 2016
Western Cape, South AfricaThere are few serious, modern, pale, fresh and dry rosés coming out of RSA, and this is one of them. A blend of mouvedre, shiraz, cinsaut and grenache from Anthonij Rupert's Rooderust farm in Darling and Riebeeksrivier in the Swartland, as well as a few coastal sites, were used in this pale-pink hued wine. Wild strawberries, perfumed raspberries and orange peel carry a brisk, lightly peppery freshness. A slick of lees smooths out the gentle palate to the crisp finish. Fantastic value.Tasted: 05 June 2017Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:BC | $15.00 | 750ml | private wine stores |
