Dorrance Cuvee Ameena Syrah 2013

Western Cape, South AfricaFrom the first urban winery in South Africa, Dorrance is a project from Normandy's Christophe and Sabrina Durand set up in Cape Town's Heritage Square. They source grapes from across the Cape for their wines. Cuvée Ameena, named for their daughter, was sourced from decomposed granite and sandstone. Swartland and Elgin grapes, 50 percent whole bunch and then gently pressed into oak barrels for MLF and two years maturation. Smoked meats, wild blackberries, cracked pepper and wild violets on the dense, but fresh palate. Stones filtered throughout, reflecting the Tasting well now, but will certainly age for a few.Tasted: 05 June 2017Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
