Tinhorn Creek Oldfield Reserve Cabernet Franc 2014

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Tinhorn style is always open on the nose, here with smoky, spicy, black fruit overtones and classic cool, mossy, medicinal notes. The fruit comes off Diamondback Vineyard on the Black Sage Bench, and is aged in French oak, now twenty-five percent new. There always a hint of mocha cherry cola and vanilla in this wine that could go in favour of a purer fruit flavour but this is a good example of south Okanagan cabernet franc and one of the best we have tasted from Tinhorn. It will improve with time under screwcap in the bottle. Best bet now is Texas barbecue style ribs.Tasted: 16 August 2017Tasted by: Prices:
