British Columbia, CanadaMild notes of white pepper dot the ripe black fruit nose. The attack is warm and round with smooth, savoury, peppery, blue and black fruits and coffee but it dies off quickly and disappears into the oak and sagebrush finish. The blend is 95/5 syrah/viognier, fruit that comes off 22-year-old vines in Saddle Ridge Vineyard on the Black Sage Bench fermented and aged in 75% new American oak (a quarter in 2nd and 3rd fill barrels).
