Orofino Vineyards Cabernet Franc Rosè Pozza Vineyard 2016
Cawston, Similkameen Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis pale pink rose was from a small block of cabernet franc in the sloping Pozza Vineyard, a cooler, higher altitude site in Similkameen's Olalla Gap, surrounded by desert scrub. This spent brief time on the skins before being fermented cool and bottled without fining. Tight and lean, dry and crisp, with sour cherry, sour apple, rhubarb, herbal raspberry in a compact, 11 percent alcohol form. On the severe, savoury spectrum of the rosé rainbow.
