Luis Pato Vinhas Velhas Branco 2009
Bairrada, Northern Portugal, PortugalFrom the cellar. Luis Pato’s family has been producing wine since the 18th century, with his father João the first to bottle wine in Bairrada DOC after it was officially demarcated as an appellation. Bical, cerceal and sercialinho spend time in stainless to highlight the bright fruit. Now coloured by age, this shows almond paste, mushroom, dusty stone and faint scents of honey that linger on the finish. A little past its prime, but enjoyed over an evening.Tasted: 16 May 2017Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:BC | $26.00 | 750ml | private wine shops |
