Little Engine Silver Sauvignon Blanc 2016

Similkameen Valley, British Columbia, CanadaLittle Engine is based in Penticton, but the grapes for this electric sauvignon blanc come from a single vineyard in the Similkameen. Cropped low, this was fermented in stainless and neutral oak puncheons before spending five-months on its lees prior to bottling. The result is crisp and bright, with tropical and zesty lemon, lime pith, hedgerow and green apple wrapped around a tight frame and finishing with a crunchy snap. A subtle film of lees is the perfect foil to the bright fruit, and should continue to deepen over the next year or two in bottle. An impressive achievement for a grape that has struggled to find its way in BC and from a new winery too. Made for shellfish it should be a winner in Vancouver restaurants.Tasted: 10 May 2017Tasted by: Treve Ring & Anthony GismondiPrices:
