Elgin, Overberg, South AfricaThis fruity, steely and juicy savvy was sourced from three vineyards in Elgin. Minimal skin contact and reductive winemaking (no oxidation) kept the fruit bright and crisp before cool ferment and two months time in stainless steel on light lees. Crunchy acidity is offset by the lightly creamy palate, with herbal, thistle-citrus, spring asparagus, and pithy grapefruit filling the mouth. The finish is juicy and joyous, potently fruited, lightly peppery, and confident, and handled very well.
