Elgin Vintners Chardonnay 2012
Elgin, Overberg, South AfricaEven five years along the oak program of this cooler climate chardonnay is present through the toasty, creamy, popcorn palate and stave-scented structure. From two clones on Elgin Orchards farm, this full-bodied white was entirely barrel fermented (34 percent new) with regular battonage and partial MLF. Full cream, lemon curd, light nutmeg is cut with a zesty lemon pith rip, lime leaf, and lingering with vanilla.
