Denbies Redlands Cellarmaster's Choice 2014
EnglandMy first English red wine. This is a "blend of red grapes" from Dorking (best name ever) in Surrey. 30% of the wine was aged to oak, with the remainder in stainless. Smooth plum, subtle blackcurrant, black raspberry, fine spicing, with an herbal leafy woven throughout the medium body, and very fine, supple tannins. At only 12 percent alcohol, and this drinkable (suits meat pies brilliantly) I'm impressed.Tasted: 22 May 2017Tasted by: Treve RingPrices: Producer: Denbies Wine EstateBlend: Dornfelder - Pinot Noir
