Garzón Sauvignon Blanc Estate 2015
Garzón, Maldonado, San José, UruguayThe thing about all these Garzon wines is the purity of fruit and expression of the origin. Ironically, it is an Alberto Antonini trademark; even though he would tell you if you feel his presence in the wine, he has failed. I would suggest we do not feel his presence but somewhat his reluctance to be one of the ordinary 2015 sauvignon, leaving us a perfectly correct core of fruit with bright citrus/apple flavours, a touch of tropical fruit and plenty of refreshing acidity. A more straightforward introduction to the varietal than its aggressive Kiwi counterparts, all grown at the same latitudes. Perfect with shellfish, especially steamed mussels.Tasted: 10 May 2017Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $29.99 | 750ml | private wine shops - New District |
